Pro/Mechanica provides a materials library that has pre-defined the mechanical properties of a number of standard materials.
Properties > Materials
Once a material has been copied from the library to the model, it can be assigned to either a part or a surface.
For a material not provided in the standard library, use NEW... to add a new material.
